The rooms are uniquely decorated with antiques. Buildings are built and carved of rich, dark woods and beautiful local stone. The walking labyrinth is stunning! There's a spring fed swimming pool, hot tubs, labyrinth, fire pit, and lots of trails and sitting areas to simply be in nature. Those that regularly attend our events rate Red Corral Ranch the best of all the centers that we use, past and present. More about Red Corral Ranch.

TRAVEL/SHUTTLE

Fly into the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport by 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 20th (Thursday, June 18th for interns). The Ranch is about 1 hour 15 minutes from the airport taking into account Austin traffic. Your return flight should be booked any time after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26th.

Round trip shuttle service is $120 from the Austin-Bergstrom Airport to Red Corral Ranch and is payable at the door. Details about the shuttle will be emailed to you prior to your flight.

MEALS :

First Meal is dinner on the day you arrive, generally around 6:00-7:00 pm, depending on when the shuttle arrives from the airport.

On Friday, June 26th, the shuttle leaves between 11:30 a.m. and noon to give ample time to catch outbound flights.

Meals for non-vegetarians and vegetarians can be served.

WEATHER : Texas in the summer months is quite hot! All buildings are air conditioned at the Ranch so you won't suffer! There is also a swimming pool. Traditionally the temperatures are in the 90's with evenings in the mid-high 70's. It is always a very good idea to check with a national weather station to check in on Austin weather before you arrive.

Dress for warmer temperatures, though. Choose casual, loose and comfortable clothing. A good pair of comfortable walking shoes for the many country trails is a must... bring a flashlight, sunglasses, sunscreen, a cap, bathing suit and body lotion.

PACKING SUGGESTIONS :

  • Comfortable, loose fitting clothes including raincoat and jacket
  • Unlined notebook or journal for note-taking and symbol drawing
  • Walking shoes
  • Item(s) that have a deep meaning for you to place on the altar. This helps create sacred space (optional)
  • Backjack/stadium chair (optional, the retreat center has some)
  • Pillows, blanket and/or mat to lie on (using the bedding from your room is permitted)
  • Flashlight for walking trails at night
  • Only covered drinking containers are permitted in group rooms
  • Specialty foods that the Center will probably not have

If flying, a good book to pass the time in the airport. As mentioned above, the airport experience can be a good time to integrate forbearance, good humor and patience
